Healthier Homemade Granola Bars
My kids LOVE granola bars, but we have been on a mission to replace store bought items with homemade. We don't like all the ingredients in many store bought granola bars, so we came up with this healthier homemade granola bars recipe and it satisfied their taste buds for sure!
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
- 3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 3/4 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup m&ms
- 2 eggs
- pinch of sea salt
- Optional: sunflower seeds pumpkin seeds, any dried fruit or other nuts
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix well.
Use parchment paper to line a 9x9 square baking pan. Dump the mixture into the pan and press it out to make an even layer.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are starting to brown and the center is done. Allow to cool completely. I like to cut in half and then in strips to make 12-14 granola bars. Using a pizza cutter makes this process easy!
