Homemade Taco Seasoning
This simple to make, homemade taco seasoning is more flavorful than store bought!

I started making homemade taco seasoning a few years ago when I was tired of buying the store bought packets and I wanted something that did not have all the preservatives and additives. I tried many different recipes, but I could not find one that I just loved. So, I ended up combining recipes and I finally had what I was looking for! This recipe can be made in bulk and kept in the cupboard to use as needed. (We go through a lot around here since we eat tacos about once a week!)
If you’re like us, once you make this recipe, you’ll never buy taco seasoning again! Homemade taco seasoning is our favorite and it will soon be yours too!
Ingredients
Chili powder
Ground Cumin
Paprika (regular or smoked, your preference)
Garlic Powder
Oregano
Onion (can either be powdered or flaked – we used flaked here)
Sea Salt – we prefer Redmond’s Sea Salt (note, his is not an affiliate link, I just love the stuff!)
Then, just mix together and store in an airtight container. It is SO EASY!

Gather the ingredients needed. We like to store ours in an airtight glass jar. This recipe makes 10 tablespoons.

Pour the ingredients into the jar. We used our canning funnel here. We normally just dump right into the jar.

Shake the jar or stir to mix the ingredients.

When adding the taco seasoning to ground beef, use 1-2 tablespoons per one pound of ground beef, depending how much flavor you want. Then add 1/4 cup of water and stir. ENJOY!
Tips
For a spicier taco seasoning, add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes
