No Blanch Freezer Tomatoes
Here is a super easy way to enjoy your vine ripened tomatoes outside of the summer season! This No Blanch Freezer Tomatoes recipe is super easy and fast when you don’t have the time to can them.

Freezer tomatoes are perfect for chili, soup, casserole or any other recipe where it’s ok if the tomatoes get a little mushy. When you freeze tomatoes, they do not hold their shape well once thawed. Freezer tomatoes don’t always have as much flavor as fresh tomatoes, but they are a great way to enjoy your summer bounty during the winter months, and they are perfect to cook with.



A few things to note: You want to use nice firm tomatoes with no holes or bruises. Wash and dry tomatoes well. Cut away the stem. Freeze on a parchment paper lined sheet first and then once frozen, place in zipper top bags.

This is such an easy process and they turn out so well, you’ll wonder why you didn’t try this sooner! Many people blanch their tomatoes when freezing, but, I have found the no blanch freezer tomatoes recipe turns out just fine!

How do you do No Blanch Freezer Tomatoes?
- Wash and dry tomatoes
- Cut out the stem
- Place on parchment lined baking sheet
- Place in freezer
- Once frozen, remove and place in zip top bags (be sure to label them!
- Try to remove as much air as possible.
- Place back into the freezer
- When ready to use, thaw completely. Doing so helps the skins to come right off

Ingredients
- Tomatoes ripe and bruise free
Instructions
- 1. Wash and dry tomatoes
- 2. Cut out the stem
- 3. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet
- 4. Put in the freezer
- 5. Once frozen, remove from freezer and place them in a zip top bag, removing as much air as possible
- 6. Place back into the freezer
- When you are ready to use these tomatoes, thaw completely and the skin will come right off.
