Monster Energy Bites
These delightful monster energy bites are simple to make, full of energy-producing ingredients and will be enjoyed by the whole family! We like them to get through those long wrestling tournaments or just a quick healthier snack.

These are no-cook, no-bake energy bites help bring quick energy or tamp down that hunger pang when you are between meals. I previously found recipes for these with unhealthier options, but I made a few substitutions to try to clean it up a bit. My kids didn’t even notice the changes and continue to love them!
These portable snacks are perfect for after school snacks, post workout or as snacks for the kid’s long tournaments. These are so easy, even my kids like to help me make them!
Ingredients
- Peanut Butter – This is the trickiest part for me. I tend to like using natural peanut butters, but they just don’t stay together as well as Skippy or Jif peanut butters. Use natural ones at your own risk!
- Honey – if I can find local honey, I use that first. Otherwise, any will do.
- Vanilla Extract – we use homemade, recipe is here, but you can use any. We prefer to not use imitation vanilla.
- Sea Salt – we like Redmond Sea Salt
- Old Fashioned Oats – we prefer organic
- Groud Flaxseed – we grind our own so it is fresh and it adds fiber
- Mini M&M’s and Chocolate Chips – or any other ingredients you like!
Make the Monster Energy Bites
Begin by adding peanut butter to a large bowl. Then, add honey, vanilla and salt and stir well.

Next, add in old fashioned oats, ground flaxseed and M&Ms and chocolate chips. Mix well.

Roll into bite sized balls. You can use a cookie scoop, spoon or just your hands here.

I like to put them in a parchment paper lined pan to refrigerate so they don’t stick together. Once they are chilled, add to an airtight container and enjoy!

Additional Ingredients
We have added different ingredients on occasion. Sometimes it’s protein poweder, sometimes a little bit of cinnamon and sometimes chopped cashews. They are all delicious and can be changed out easily.
You can also leave out the candy and chocolate chips for a healthier alternative, but then they wouldn’t be very Monster-like. When I was a kid, I was disgusted when I went to eat a chocolate chip cookie and it was a raisin cookie, but raisins would make this a healthier alternative. I’ve also used almond butter in place of peanut butter before.

These can be frozen too! While on the parchment paper, just stick in the freezer until they are frozen, then, place in an airtight container and freeze. This way they won’t stick together. Enjoy them down the road!
