My goal is to plant these in our garden eventually, but for now, I purchase from our grocery store.
Ingredients for Roasted Sliced Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes – for my family of 6, I usually use 3-4, depending on how hungry they are.
Olive Oil – just enough to coat the slices.
Spices – I like to use garlic powder and sea salt, but others can be used as well. (Other choices could include: clove, cumin, coriander, chili powder, paprika, thyme, rosemary, etc) The choices are limitless and you can cater to your taste!
Prepare
To prepare the roasted sliced sweet potatoes, begin by peeling them. Then, wash them off and dry them. Slice into even slices so they cook evenly.

Place them on the pan. Gently pour a little bit of olive oil over them. A little goes a long way, so it’s best to start with less and add more if needed. Make sure both sides are coated. It’s easiest to use your hands here, however, a basting brush would work as well.
Sprinkle garlic powder over the top and season with sea salt.

Bake in a preheated oven. After 25-30 minutes, poke a couple slices with a fork to determine if it is done. It should be soft and starting to brown along the edges. Let cool slightly. They are better when they are warm.

Serve these as a side dish for meat or fish. We like ours with our BBQ Meatball Recipe.
For a super savory meal, follow it up with apple pie using our apple pie filling recipe.
