I’ve brough this salad with me multiple times and I always get asked what the recipe is. So, today, I’m putting it out there for all to see.
While this salad is super tasty right after making, I prefer to make it a day ahead of time. The dressing can really soak into the broccoli and cauliflower and it becomes extra tasty!
Ingredients
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Bacon
- Sunflower seeds
- Red onions
- Mayo
- Sour cream
- Sea salt/pepper
- Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
- Sugar
How to make Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad
Chop up 5 cups of broccoli and two cups of cauliflower. I like to make sure these are in bite sized pieces. Place in a large bowl.
Cook one package of bacon. Once cooled, chop into small pieces and place in the bowl of broccoli and cauliflower.

Next, add in the sunflower seeds and chopped red onion. Mix well.

For the dressing, add mayo and sour cream to a smaller bowl. Add in a pinch of salt and pepper. Then, add in apple cider vinegar and sugar. Mix well.

Next, pour the dressing over the top of the broccoli and cauliflower mix. Stir well.
Place in the refrigerator until you are ready to enjoy.

This goes well with our Slow Cooker Ham.
My favorite bowls to make this in are these (from Amazon).
Tips for Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad
- This salad can be made with all broccoli, swapping out the cauliflower. It is really whatever your preference is. My family likes both, so I do it this way.
- You can also add in dried cranberries or raisins to add a little more flavor.
- I’ve seen this made with cheese chunks also.
