Delicious Banana Bread
This delicious banana bread recipe will be a hit in any household. It will be gone before you know it!

My kids eat so many bananas. As long as they keep eating them, I keep buying them. However, there always comes a time when I buy a little too much and we end up with overripe bananas. Growing up, my mom would always make banana bread when we would have overripe bananas, so I’ve tried to continue doing the same.
I’ve tried different recipes over the years and continued to tweak recipes along the way. I finally found a delicious banana bread recipe that turns out good every time. It has amazing flavor and isn’t too dry. My kids (and us parents, who am I kidding?!) eat it in no time!
It is easy to mix up and uses ingredients that you most likely already have around the house, plus the overripe bananas.
Delicious Banana Bread Ingredients
- overripe bananas
- salted butter
- sugar
- eggs
- flour
- baking soda
- sea salt
- vanilla extract
You can always add more ingredients, such as nuts and raisins. My husband’s grandma even adds chocolate chips! Who doesn’t love chocolate chips?!
What if I don’t have ripe bananas?
During one of my pregnancies, I really wanted delicious banana bread. I did some research, and I learned if I put the bananas in a paper bag and left them on the counter for about a day, they would be wonderfully ripened and ready for baking!
What if I have overripe bananas and I’m not ready to bake?
You can totally freeze them! Just place them in a zipped top plastic bag and stick them in the freezer. I would recommend leaving the peels on. But I have also peeled them, sliced them and froze them to put in smoothies as well.
The Process of Making Delcious Banana Bread
Grab a mixing bowl. You can use a stand mixer or just a hand mixer. I’ve used both and really have no preference.
Add in the butter and sugar and cream together.

Then, peel the bananas and mash them (either with your hands or a spoon) and add them to the batter. Add in eggs and mix until blended.


Using a smaller bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Slowly add it to the wet ingredients while mixing. Add in vanilla and any of the add-ons and mix well.

Pour into greased/floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the banana bread cool for 10 mins and transfer from pan.

Delicious Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 1 1/2 cups all pupose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2-1 cup addons raisins, nuts, chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Grease and flour a bread pan.
- Cream together softened butter and sugar.
- Mash the bananas. Add them to the batter. Add eggs. Mix until blended.
- In separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and sea salt. Add to batter.
- Add vanilla and any add ons. Mix.
- Pour into greased bread pan. Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let banana bread cool for 10 minutes until removing to continue to cool on a wooden cutting board or wire rack.
